Powersmith Home Energy Solutions, Copiague, NY

- Are you interested in having the stability of being paid consistently and having enough work to keep you busy every week?
- Are you interested in making a difference on a daily basis?
- Are you interested in energy efficiency?
If so, join the next energy revolution. Powersmith Home Energy Solutions is dedicated to making every home a more comfortable, energy efficient and healthy environment. We focus on the home as a system and provide customized improvements that raise homes' energy performance to today's standards. Using building science technology, Powersmith Home Energy Solutions' specially trained and certified technicians perform a thorough home performance test, analyze the resulting data, and then we implement the residential construction solutions that meet our client's needs.
We are looking for hard-working and honest people interested in making a positive impact on people's homes and the environment. Candidates must possess an entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a fast-paced, demanding work setting and be willing to dedicate him/herself to the Powersmith company culture.
Position Overview
Crew members have primary responsibility for working on our home performance team to get jobs done efficiently and with high profit margins.
We only promote up through our business and we are growing fast. Those who can establish themselves as great crew members will quickly have the opportunity to become crew leads and eventually residential energy auditors.
Job Requirements
- Construction basics: some level of trade experience is a MUST.
- Willing to work in confined hot or cold/dark places (attics and crawlspaces) for entire work days.

- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Able to work in a full mask respirator for entire work days.
- Must be able to get to work by 7:55am everyday. Public transit is not an option.

Preferred
Ideally, the candidate will have at least one year of trade experience (finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and an understanding of energy-efficient/green building practices. While extensive knowledge of building science is not required, it will become an essential part of the job, so you should be enthusiastic to learn how to reduce residential energy use. If you have no prior knowledge of building science, you must come to the job prepared to learn building science approved ways of doing installation work.
